Learn to Fish Program from Freshwater Fisheries Society of B.C.

Fishing can endow you with the kind of experience that cannot be compared to other outdoor activities. Apart from it being a rewarding hobby, fishing also helps preserve the water resources. The special taxes and fees for fishing licenses are used to fund programs meant for the conservation of water resources. Fishing is also a great bonding activity and can ward off stress. It's a fulfilling recreational activity that everyone in the family can delight in.

But before you get to enjoy all of the fun and benefits incorporated to fishing, you need to learn how to fish. It is important that you learn from the experts. The Freshwater Fisheries Society of B.C. happens to be one of the most reliable groups that offer a Learn to Fish program.

The Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC offers a 2-hour session for children who wish to learn the basic of freshwater fishing. The activities included in the session are information about the role of hatcheries, fish identification, rod rigging, casting, tackle, and hands-on fishing.

Children 5 to 15 years old are invited to participate in the Learn to Fish program at no cost. They have to be accompanied by adults to be allowed to join. Pre-registration is required. No need to worry about fishing rods because these will be provided. The Freshwater Fisheries Society of B.C. assures that the program will proceed even if it rains or shines. Donations from everyone at the venue will be highly appreciated as the funds raised will be used for the improvement and conservation of the freshwater fisheries in BC.
